Restoring My Childhood Toy - Clownie!

Everyone has a toy that they were connected by the hip to when they were younger. That one special toy that had a REAL living soul.

I had a few of those growing up...my lightning bug with the human head that would light up when I squeezed it, Vova the life sized baby doll, my 200 beanie babies, but my all time favorite childhood toy was Clownie.

Clownie and I had a special bond. He was like my little sand-filled baby that was the star of every make-believe game I played.

Unfortunately after many years of being played with followed by many years of neglect, Clownie became dirty, ripped, used and abused.

For many years he sat in my old room at my mom's house and every time I came over and saw him I felt like I was neglecting my baby. It's so weird how even after you grow up, you still have a kid's mentality towards your childhood toys.

Well, I couldn't take it anymore so I took him and set on a mission to restore my beloved Clownie.

First, I let him soak in a Tide bubble bath for a few hours.

Then, I fired up my glue gun and glued his tushy together and glued two pearlescent buttons where his pom pom used to be.

After blow drying his hair and wiping his face clean, Clownie looked almost brand new! He is now perched on a shelf in my closet where I can see him everyday.

It sure feels good to restore something that makes you smile so much. :)

Philly Zoo Trip

I'm simply not in the mood to write a very descriptive blog post but I do want to share my photos from my zoo trip this week. I went with one of my best friends and bridesmaid. Had a great day and saw a bunch of funky looking animals! ENJOY :)

Of course had to get a pic with the fountain. I think I have a pic with this fountain every year since I was 6 years old.

Never too old to climb on top of a statue and take pics. Shoot me the day I'm too old to have good old kiddie fun.

The absolute best part of the zoo!! The petting zoo where you get to feed goats and sheep! Although this time around I did have a HUGE and FAT goat chasing me around and not letting me near the other smaller goats. No wonder he was so fat...bullying me into feeding only him UGH.

Love this shot. He has some funky snake eyelashes.

This croc looks like he is smiling/trying to eat you...but really he was yawning. Getting bored with all the paparazzi.

My friend's favorite monkey. Looks a bit porcelain in the face doesn't he?

An ostrich protecting his baby egg. I always thought their eggs were bigger? Maybe it was a dummy egg?

Ok what the hell is this?? Anyone?? It looks like something out of Star Wars or Doctor Who.

Watching the tiger take a bath...

And I must end this post with turtle sex. Yes they were doing it and yes they were LOUD.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Express for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

When you find the perfect pair of jeans you wear them forever. They are the most versatile piece of clothing that you can have. Don't believe me? Well what else can you wear at home, at work, at a restaurant, to a club, gardening, etc.? Well socks and undies I guess but that's beside the point!
My flared, light wash Express jeans have been my favorite pair of jeans for over 5 years now! I seriously cannot live without them. They are super comfy, durable, and best of all don't expose my underwear when I sit down.

Their line of women's jeans is super diverse. They have jean leggings, flare jeans (my personal favorite), wide leg jeans, and the biggest current jean trend...colored jeans.
I've been thinking of getting  a nice pair of white jeans myself. I have yet to dive into the world of colored jeans.
